Roll It

V-1)  I'll never be young and pretty. I'll never be old and rich.
You could say I'm all out of luck and the world was made for you.
Don't take time to come down here. You'd see a lot of signs of a struggle.
Better yet, stay cool in the classroom. Who needs reality?
V-2) I just smoked my last cigarette and the store on the corner is closed.
I kind of lost all track of time when I got lost in the delta blues.
At four A.M. there's a knock on the door. It's a crack whore and she's open for business.
I tell her I have no money for the pipe and she walks off down the road.
Ch. )Maybe you think you're a mover and a shaker. Maybe you think you're a victim.
Big Brother knows where he wants you. Now get in line for the system.
Then you won't have to look for love, truth, God, hope or wisdom.
All you have to do is find a wheel and roll it for the system.
V-3) After sleeping for an hour and a half, I take the back roads to the factory.
Drive through the gate and clock in straight up seven o'clock.
The A-2 line is broken down and the neck-ties are up front talking, talking.
The line boss finally blew a gasket. My mind wandered away.
                                                                                             (repeat ch.)
